Went to Spence yesterday and soaked for a good many hours.   Nice people, no idiots, not crowded.  The hike up is mightly slippery, mud and ice, good thing I had my sharp poles along.  The upper pool is down about 4 inches and the lower pool is a murky bog and only partially filled.  Looks like the top pool has blown out under one of the big boulders and is sending water down the path, creating a mini-glacier and not allowing the top pool to fill enough to overflow into the bottom pool.  Next time I'm up there I will try to fill in that hole somehow.  The source is lovely as usual, especially with winter sun shining into it.  Aaaaaaahhhhhhh....
