Just wanted to let everyone know that Frenchman's Bend Hot Spring (out Warm Springs Road in Ketchum, ID) was apparently destroyed by landslides caused by the fires in the area last summer.  There was debate within the Forest Service as to whether to let it stay ruined or whether to repair it, and fortunately, they decided to repair it.  I just took a drive out there two days ago (4/12/08), and it looks better than I have ever seen it!  The pool is built up very well with rocks and sand/dirt, and the temperature seems a lot more consistently nice than it has been in the past.  The Forest Service repair is, in my opinion quite an improvement over what the spring was like before the fires.  The road out there is a bit muddy and pot-holey, but certainly not prohibitive.  The Forest Service does have some strict rules posted about dogs, nudity, and alcohol, and it is only "open" during the daytime.  But, I would say it's definitely worth the drive for a nice soak!
